It was a pretty busy weekend but lucky for us we were able to make it out to one winery. On Saturday we headed to Byrd Cellars in Goochland, VA. This is a small, family oriented farm that does its best to do whatever they can to reduce their carbon footprint. They use zero pesticides in their vineyard and fertilize with only organic material. Their irrigation system is a micro drip system which helps preserve water. They close their bottles with recyclable materials and they also recycle their own bottle. If that isn't enough to make you want to go visit they also have a great selection of wines. Right now they have 14 wines on the menu and the variety is great. They even have some special apple wines. Yum!
